Technology Requirements

To enroll in any program at Sessions College, you need a computer with an Internet connection, and may need specific software and/or art supplies. This page provides a list of general and program specific requirements. If you have any questions, please contact Admissions at admissions@sessions.edu.

General Requirements

To get the most out of your online program at Sessions College, you will need:

Mac or Windows computer with an Internet connection. A broadband connection is recommended.
Your computer must meet current Adobe Creative Cloud system requirements.
Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
Additional software or art supplies may be required by program.

There are no textbook or course material costs to participate in our online programs. Student discount on Adobe Creative Cloud software is available to enrolled students.

Technology Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design

To take this program, you’ll need the following:

Mac or Windows computer with an Internet connection.
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign Creative Cloud software.
Your computer must meet software manufacturer requirements.
Basic drawing and painting supplies including pencils, charcoal, newsprint, and sketch paper.
MS word or equivalent application.
Webcam, headphones or speaker, VPN connection, and microphone connected to the computer for live proctored exams.

Bachelor's Degree in Illustration

To take this program, you’ll need the following:

Mac or Windows computer with an Internet connection.
A digital camera that offers manual control over aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance .
Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CC software.
Your computer must meet software manufacturer requirements.
Basic drawing and painting supplies including pencils, charcoal, newsprint, and sketch paper.
Webcam, headphones or speaker, VPN connection, and microphone connected to the computer for live proctored exams.

Bachelor's Degree in Digital Photography

To take this program, you’ll need the following:

Mac or Windows computer with an Internet connection.
Access to a standalone digital camera with manual control over ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, and White Balance, that allows for shooting in RAW format.
A digital video camera and ability to connect it to a computer to capture footage.
Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere CC software.
Your computer must meet software manufacturer requirements.
Webcam, headphones or speaker, VPN connection, and microphone connected to the computer for live proctored exams.

To take this program, you’ll need the following:

Mac or Windows computer with an Internet connection.
Non-linear video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, Final Cut Pro, or iMovie.
Projects in this class can be completed using your mobile device, a point-and-shoot, or a consumer-level DSLR. If you have access to a professional camera, that’s great but not required.
Ability to connect your video device, (as described above) to a computer to capture footage.
Professional lights are not required for this course. Household, repurposed items, and natural light can be used to complete course assignments.

Professional Certificate in Digital Arts

To take this program, you’ll need the following:

A digital camera for photographing drawing work.
