Sessions College Featured on Trending in Ed

Trendspotting higher ed podcast interviews Sessions College
Tempe, AZ (December 6, 2022)

What's trending in education? That's the top question asked by Trending in Ed, a higher ed podcast founded by Mike Palmer, a veteran digital media strategist whose podcast has interviewed hundreds of higher ed leaders since 2016, offering deep dives into not only education but also "the transformative times of the Covid-19 Pandemic, a Social Justice Uprising and Backlash, Culture Wars, and disruptive revolutions in healthcare, mental health, and the job market."

In November 2022, Trending in Ed interviewed Sessions College President Gordon Drummond to find out how Sessions College, one of the first accredited fully online schools, has survived and thrived, evolving from a tiny startup into a degree granting college, over the last 25 years. This Trending in Ed interview addresses the following questions:

  • The evolution of Sessions College from an education startup to its current status as a degree-granting institution of higher education.
  • How fully online schools were prepared for the COVID pandemic.
  • Benefits of the Sessions College model: project-based, asynchronous, and instructor-led.
  • Why online institutions need to continue to evolve beyond providing accessibility and convenience, and excel in the areas of affordability, skills development, and student experience.
  • How Sessions keeps pace with a constantly changing technology space.
  • Why remote learning can be a good platform for learning to work effectively as a remote worker.

The interview is available on most podcasting platforms or can be accessed at this link:
