The good news is that today it’s easy to find out-of-the-box WordPress themes that are designed specifically for non-profits and charities and have much of the functionality required. These WordPress themes are quite affordable and in some cases free. Read on to find out about five impressive options for non-profits and charities.
Goodwill
Goodwill is truly an amazing WordPress theme. The theme comes with eight customizable homepage layouts designed for specific causes and groups. You can find a ready-made layout for an environmental non-profit, children’s charity, animal rights organization, volunteer group, disaster relief fund, and and more. The theme also has a variety of layout templates for different causes and events and accepting donations is simple with the Give plugin. The theme is well-organized with a comprehensive Admin area and 1-click import feature. Creating new pages is simple with the inclusion of the popular Visual Composer page builder for WordPress and multi-language functionality is supported with the WPML plugin.
Alone
Alone is also an excellent charity and non-profit WordPress theme. The theme comes with five site demos with a variety of modern and grid-based layouts. Three different header styles are also supported where one can place multi-tiered menus and buttons. Over six different page templates are also included featuring donation and sponsorship modiles, causes, google maps, and articles.
The flexible design makes it possible to create a custom site within its framework. The theme also is fully-responsive and has SEO right out of the box. Useful plugins like the Visual Composer page builder, WordPress donation plugin, Ninja forms and Woocommerce come pre-installed.
Charity Review
Charity Review is a free WordPress theme for NGOs, INGOs, and non-profit organizations. The theme has a fresh update just last month and comes installed with quite a bit of functionality for a free option. The theme has a Call to Action module, banner slider, social media display, a Testimonial section, multiple page layouts and custom CSS. It’s a solid choice for a new organization or for a developer who wants a good base on which to build a more robust site.
Peak
Peak is a very modern and sophisticated looking WordPress theme for charities and nonprofits that also has a lot of features and functionality. The theme includes unlimited campaign and donation forms, multiple payment gateways, an events campaign module that can issue tickets, ecommerce via Woocommerce, over 30 page layout options, multiple custom post types and great documentation.
Charitas Lite
Charitas Light is free WordPress theme for charities, nonprofits, foundations, political organizations and churches. The theme has multilingual support, a robust options panel, responsive design and is fast loading. The design look is clean and contemporary with a bright color palette, so it can work well right out of the box, without a lot of customization to the CSS styles.
