Free Font Friday: Botera
by Taylor Slattery | September 20, 2019
Botera is a typeface that was originally designed for use with wine packaging, and boy is it a tall drink. Its serifs have a simple sophistication that communicate high-scale in a subtle way. The font comes with an array of alternate characters and ligatures, allowing you to crank up or dial back the fancy as you please. Being that it was designed for wine packaging, it’s only natural that it also includes various wine-related symbols.
The stencil version of the font feels clean and modern while giving a nod to the wooden barrels that are used to age wine. Given the designer’s intentions, Botera is a great choice for upscale packaging or branding projects, particularly those related to wine and liquor. Botera is available in 2 styles, and can be found here.
