Our Free Font Friday series profiles the design characteristics of today’s free downloadable typefaces.
The Ernst Haeckel font, created by the Aleph Corporation, pays homage to the famous German biologist, naturalist, philosopher, physician, professor, and artist Ernst Haeckel.
Haeckel discovered and named thousands of new species and created exquisitely detailed illustrations of his findings. Aleph Corporation has made a font inspired by his designs that is absolutely beautiful and a work of art in its own right.
A collage style font, the design is colorful and ornate, teeming with life with an organic and naturalistic look. The font design would be wonderful in posters and invitations or as a home decor element—as a framed art print or on custom-made pillows.
The Ernst Haeckel font is free to use and can be found here here.
