Free Font Friday: Kitchen Sink
by Margaret Penney | July 14, 2017
They say creative inspiration is everywhere and that is most definitely the case with this type design created from custom letters cut from kitchen sponges. Creating fonts from sponges is not an easy task and one can see when observing the typeface that much effort was put into creating letters with visual balance, legibility and just the right amount of artful chaos (wabi-sabi). Cleverly, the handmade typeface’s different weights were created by how firmly the sponge was pressed to the surface of the paper.
The font is free for personal use under the CC Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives license. It cannot be modified and author credit must be included. For commercial licensing please contact the designer Ollie Briggs.
