Graduate Profile
About me: I have a deep love for being outdoors, and being active—including hiking, biking, and kayaking. Exploring nature not only invigorates me but also inspires my creativity. Additionally, I enjoy creating and crafting, whether it's cooking, baking or doing various DIY projects. I enjoy being busy and am refreshed by being outdoors or being creative.
Favorite projects: In graphic design, my key strengths lie in branding, packaging design, and editorial work. I thrive on projects where I can visualize the end product in a physical format or environment. It is fulfilling to see your work in person or on a shelf in a store, something that started as an idea in your sketch book.
Why I studied online: Being an adult learner with a full-time job and a family, the only way for me to complete my Bachelors degree was online. The flexibility of the schedule enabled me to get the work done, and also carve out time to focus on it.
Best thing about Sessions: I feel that the best thing about Sessions is the teachers. They are passionate about what they are teaching in their classes, they all have so much real-life experience that they can draw from and they engage with you and help you anytime you reach out.
Favorite class or instructor? My top three favorite instructors were people who I had multiple classes with and who I felt helped me in different ways—Dr Meryl Epstein who was incredibly encouraging and inspiring, Kristen Becker who I learned so many beneficial things from in the Interactive Marketing class, and Andrew Shalat who pushed me to be more creative and think outside the box.
Creative/professional goals after graduation? Since graduating Sessions, I have continued to build up my freelance business as a graphic designer, and have focused on branding and packaging projects primarily. I also have been working as a freelance surface pattern designer for a company that creates wrapping paper.
The most exciting project / goal that I am working on, is that I am launching a creative focused indie magazine in the beginning of 2025!

“Kristin brought a great sense of balance and play to her work. Everything that’s there should be there. She always made sure to research and create a clear intention, and it showed in the way she lays out pages, puts a flippant turn to her typography, and uses color in smart, and pointed ways. Sometimes understated, but always confident in her work. That’s the sign of a true designer. And that’s what Kristin is: a true designer. “
